Bowl 4 The Cure

Bowl for The Cure

On Saturday, January 24th, we held our 5th Annual Bowl For The Cure Event. We raised $21,132 to help women in our communities fight breast cancer! (This is $3,000 more than last year.)

We raised this money through our bowling event, a bake sale which included a variety of goodies, cash raffle, a silent auction, paddles, brackets and a variety of raffle prizes. Several 300 games were bowled. Everyone had a great time!

A huge shoutout and THANK YOU to our sponsors, Circle B, the bowlers, contributors, the GROWBA Board of Directors, Joel Cielak, and our volunteers who made this event so successful. This event would not have been successful without you!

In the coming year, 4,700 Wisconsinites will be diagnosed with breast cancer and over 790 will lose their life to the disease. The Susan G. Komen organization supports local breast cancer patients as well as provides individuals in our community access to lifesaving breast cancer screenings, diagnostic tests and treatment support they would not otherwise be able to find or afford. To learn more about how you can access these services, click HERE or reach out to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Helpline at Call 1-877-465-6636 or email helpline@komen.org.

For those not familiar with the Susan G Komen organization, they help raise funds to aid in the initial screening process for individuals who lack insurance, or funds, to cover their medical costs. It also supplies financial aid to current breast cancer patients who qualify for financial aid. Everyone knows someone who has fought the disease, so this event should touch the hearts of many.
